Mobilram TM 13 Piling Rig
The Mobilram ABI TM piling rig is a versatile, high-capacity machine commonly used in foundation work and adapted for utility-scale solar applications, especially in sites with complex geotechnical challenges or requiring deep pile driving. As a multi-purpose rig, it can be equipped with various attachments including vibratory hammers and augers, allowing it to pre-drill, vibrate, or drive piles depending on ground conditions. While more expensive and larger than standard solar pile drivers, the ABI TM offers unmatched power and control, ideal for projects involving rocky, clay-heavy, or frozen soils where conventional machines may fail.
Specifications:- Operating weight: 60,000–80,000 lbs (depending on configuration)
- Engine: 300–400 hp diesel
- Max pile length: 40+ ft
- Attachments: Vibratory hammer, auger, impact hammer
- Mast height: Up to 60 ft
- Daily output: 150–300 piles/day (soil-dependent)
- Features: High torque, mast articulation, GPS + sensor suite

PD10 Pile Driver
The Vermeer PD10 remains a leading choice for solar pile installation due to its compact footprint, efficient automation features, and excellent maneuverability. Specifically designed for utility-scale solar applications, it allows operators to maximize productivity through GPS-enabled auto-plumb and auto-position systems. The PD10 excels in fast-paced solar projects, especially in sites where layout precision and pile alignment are critical for racking systems. Its low ground pressure and rubber tracks allow it to operate effectively in environmentally sensitive or wet areas without causing site degradation.
Specifications:- Operating weight: Approx. 16,500 lbs
- Engine: 49.6 hp (Tier 4 Final diesel)
- Max hammer impact energy: 1,500 ft-lb
- Pile driving rate: Up to 30 piles/hour
- Maximum pile length: 20 ft
- Ground pressure: Approx. 4.5 psi
- Features: Auto-plumb, auto-align, GPS integration

Large Track Pile Driver
The GRT Large Track pile driver is a heavy-duty machine built for high-volume, utility-scale solar installations. With enhanced driving force and long mast capacity, it can handle longer or thicker piles often required in challenging geotechnical conditions. Its wider tracks provide stability on soft or uneven terrain, and its robust hydraulic system enables high-speed driving with minimal bounce or misalignment. Frequently deployed on megawatt-scale solar farms, the Large Track model offers full automation options for pile positioning, angle control, and data logging, ensuring efficiency and traceability on large projects.
Specifications:- Operating weight: 25,000–30,000 lbs
- Engine: 100+ hp Tier 4 Final diesel
- Hammer impact energy: 2,500+ ft-lb
- Max pile length: Up to 25 ft
- Driving capacity: 300+ piles/day
- Track width: Extra-wide for added stability
- Features: Full GPS automation, tilt sensors, onboard diagnostics

Medium Track Pile Driver
The GRT Medium Track pile driver is designed for mid-sized solar projects requiring a balance of power, mobility, and precision. Engineered with hydraulic mast movement and robust hammer capabilities, the Medium Track model delivers consistent driving performance across various soil types. Its compact track system enables efficient travel across rough terrain, while the integration of GPS and pile mapping options makes it a strong candidate for projects requiring quality control and documentation. It’s often chosen for projects needing quick mobilization and moderate to high daily output.
Specifications:- Operating weight: Approx. 18,000–20,000 lbs
- Engine: 74 hp Tier 4 Final diesel
- Max pile length: Up to 21 ft
- Hammer energy: 1,800–2,200 ft-lb
- Production: 250–300 piles/day
- Track width: Narrow/adjustable for tight layouts
- Options: GPS guidance, automated alignment

Rock Drill
The Word Rock Drill is a specialized rock drilling solution used in utility-scale solar installations where subsurface conditions—like bedrock, cobbles, or dense glacial till—make traditional pile driving ineffective. Rather than driving piles directly into the ground, the Word Rock Drill is typically used to pre-drill pilot holes that facilitate pile installation in hard or obstructed soils. Mounted on skid steers, excavators, or tracked platforms, it delivers high torque and depth control in tight working envelopes. This system is especially valuable during the geotechnical mitigation phase of a project, ensuring that driven piles maintain required depth and load-bearing performance when refusal is encountered. It’s a critical support tool for extending the reach of solar pile installation to more complex sites.
Specifications:- Drill type: Down-the-hole (DTH) hammer and auger options
- Mounting options: Skid steer, excavator, or custom crawler
- Drilling depth: Up to 20+ ft (soil dependent)
- Drill diameter: Customizable, typically 6″–12″
- Torque: Up to 5,000+ ft-lb
- Air compressor requirements: 185–900 CFM (DTH use)
- Features: Modular tooling, variable speed, remote operation capable
